The Vacation is a multilayered and exhilarating thriller that would make an excellent summer read! As the book moves on, the suspense and action ramps up, full of twists and turns that keep the reader on their toes leading to an ending I felt worked perfectly for this story. It takes a while to set the scene properly, there are so many characters with their own motivations and secrets which could be confusing in less skilful hands. Currently, the two magazines have competed closely in terms of market circulation. Shōnen Magazine had now made a comeback in October 1997, regaining its original position as the top selling manga magazine of its day until this was brokered in 2002. In the middle of the 1990s, Shōnen Jump suffered the loss of Dragon Ball, as the franchise had come to an end in 1996, and thus lost much of its readership. This began from the 1970s and continued throughout the 1990s, largely owed to Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball. ![]() Shōnen Jump had now begun to circulate and dominate the manga magazine market. But the position was later occupied by Weekly Shōnen Jump, when this competitor was born in 1968, knocking Shonen Magazine off the top spot. The reason for this, as PaidContent points out, is that the book is coming out in an important window: between the time publishers had to terminate their contract with Apple and the time they’re required to have entered into contracts that let other e-book stores discount their titles. That’s $1 more than the highest-allowed pre-DoJ settlement Apple iBookstore e-book price band of $16.99. The book, publisher-priced by Hachette at $35 and available in hardcover from Amazon for $20.90, will cost a whopping $17.99 in its e-book version, undiscounted, when it goes on sale tomorrow in the US. In Fantastic Four: Full Circle, readers are reminded of why Marvel’s First Family is so iconic, offering a continuation of a classic FF tale from the 1960s while bringing an entirely modern sensibility to the artwork and story. While today the Fantastic Four are often overshadowed by more popular superhero teams like the Avengers and the X-Men, in the Silver Age of comic book publishing the Richards reigned supreme, helping to set the groundwork for the Marvel universe as its known today. ![]() Alex Ross’s Fantastic Four: Full Circle offers a stunning new homage to Marvel’s First Family ![]() ![]() ![]() The siblings also had a very raw dynamic that felt realistic, and I really enjoyed.
